Juan-Carlos Cruz, a former Food Network star, has been sentenced to nine years in prison after trying to put out a hit on his wife.
Last spring, the chef tried to pay three homeless men to kill Jennifer Campbell. It’s believed that Cruz solicited the murder so that the ultra-religious Campbell would not have to commit suicide over her inability to have a baby.
Cruz pled no contest in October to avoid an attempted murder charge.
He is the former host of “Calorie Commando” and “Weighing In.”
